Chapter 6. WORKING IN COLOR > Using Swatch Libraries

Using Swatch Libraries

Rather than redefine colors for every new project, you can use the swatch libraries to import colors from other InDesign or Adobe Illustrator documents. You can also use the swatch libraries from professional color systems from companies such as Pantone or Trumatch.

To add colors from swatch libraries:

1.
Choose Window > Swatch Libraries and then choose one of the ten libraries that ship with InDesign (see "The Swatch Libraries"). This opens the Swatches palette for that library.

2.
Scroll through the palette to find the color you want to add to your document.

3.
Double-click the color.

or

Select the color and choose Add To Swatches.
