Setting the Grids Preferences

InDesign lets you change the colors and increments of the baseline and document grids. (For more information on setting the grids preferences, see Chapter 2, "Document Setup.")

To set the Baseline Grid preferences:

1.
Choose Edit > Preferences > Grids. This opens the Preferences dialog box with the Grids options visible.

Set the Baseline Grid options:

  • Choose the color from the Color pop-up list.

  • Enter a value in the Start field to position where the grid should start on the page.

  • Enter a value in the Increment Every field to set the distance between the lines of the grid.

  • Set an amount in the View Threshold field to set the lowest magnification that the grid is visible at.
