Chapter 5. Text flow > To drag-copy pages from one document to another:

To drag-copy pages from one document to another:

1.
Open the document you want to copy from and the document you want to copy to.

2.
Hold down Alt and choose Window menu > Tile Horizontally or Tile Vertically to tile both documents into Thumbnails view.

Here's a trick I use to make room for new pages if I'm adding them at the end of a document: In the document window I'm copying to, I drag the resize box (lower right corner) upward, click the down scroll arrow to scoot the document pages upward, then drag the resize box to lengthen the document window again (see the bottom window in the illustration at left).

3.
Drag a page icon from one document window into the other. A copy of the page will appear in the destination document. Pages will reshuffle depending on where you release the mouse (Force Right pointer or Force Down pointer).

or

To drag multiple pages at a time, click on the first page in the series of pages that you want to move, Shift-click on the last page in the series , then drag. Or Ctrl-click to select non-consecutive pages. If the pages that you want to move contain linked text, move all the pages at once. Other wise, the text from the linked boxes itself will move, but all the links from the first box in the chain forward will be broken.

Use the Section command to renumber all or some of the pages in any document with a user-specified starting number. You can choose a different page numbering format for each section. For example, in this book, the lowercase Roman format is used for the Table of Contents and the numeric format is used for the pages that follow.
