Style sheets

A style sheet is a set of paragraph or character formatting specifications that can be applied to highlighted text via a user-assigned shortcut or by clicking the style sheet name on the Style Sheets palette. If a style sheet is modified, all paragraphs or text blocks to which it was previously applied will reformat instantly. A document can contain up to 1,000 style sheets.

I'm surprised when I encounter a long-time QuarkXPress user who doesn't use style sheets. Style sheets save zillions of man hours of tedious styling and restyling, and they ensure typgraphic consistency on a document-wide and project-wide basis. Whether you're working on a one-page letter or a massive catalogue, you can take advantage of this tremendous time-saver.
