Chapter 2. Startup > To append style sheets, colors, H&Js, lists, or dashes & s...

To append style sheets, colors, H&Js, lists, or dashes & stripes from one file to another:

1.
Open the file to which you want to append the style sheets, colors, H&Js, lists, or dashes & stripes.

Choose File menu > Append (Ctrl-Alt-A).

or

Click Append in the Style Sheets, Colors, H&Js, Lists, or Dashes & Stripes dialog box.

Locate and highlight the name of the file containing the components that you want to append, then click Open. You can append from a library.

Click the Style Sheets, Colors, H&Js, Lists, or Dashes & Stripes folder tab.

Locate and click on the name of the style sheet, color, H&J, list, or dashes & stripe style that you want to append .

To append multiple components, click on the first component in a series of consecutively-listed components, then Shift-click on the last in the series. Or Ctrl-click to select/deselect individual components.

Click the right-pointing append-items arrow .

Click OK or press Enter. If a warning prompt appears, click OK again . Check the Don't Show This Warning Again box if you don't want to see it again.

If an appending component has the same name as a component in the open, destination document, the Append Conflict dialog box will open. Do one of the following for each conflict that arises:

Quick-And-Dirty Append

If text to which a style sheet or sheets have been applied is pasted from another document using the Clipboard, copied from another document, or retrieved from a library, the style sheet or sheets will be appended, with a name conflict being the only exception. Colors can also be appended this way.



Note: To apply the same response automatically to any remaining conflicts, check the Repeat For All Conflicts box before clicking Rename, Auto-Rename, Use New, or Use Existing.

To keep the existing component, append the new component, and rename an individual component yourself, click Rename , type a new name, then click OK.

or

To have an asterisk be inserted automatically next to the name of any appending component that has a match in the open, destination document, click Auto-Rename.

or

To replace the existing item with the appending component, click Use New .

or

To cancel the append of that item, click Use Existing .

9.
Click OK or press Enter.

Tip

To append all the components listed, don't highlight any of them, and click Include All. Click Remove All to delete the whole appended list.
