To check the spelling of a story or a document:

Check Spelling In Swedish?

If you're using QuarkXPress Passport for version 4.0 or later, you can choose any one of 11 languages for the application interface (menus, palettes, and dialog boxes), and a different language, if you wish, for hyphenation and spelling-checking. The available languages include Danish, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Spanish, Swedish, Swiss-German, U.S. English, and International English.

Choose a language for the interface from the Edit menu > Program Language submenu.

Choose a language in which to hyhenate or check spelling in selected text from the Language drop-down menu in the Style menu > Formats dialog box. Make sure the SpellChecker XTension software is enabled.

To assign a hyphenation method to a language, choose Edit menu > Preferences > Document > Paragraph folder tab, click a Hyphenation Language, then choose a Mode.

To save a document in a format that can be opened only in the multilingual version of QuarkXPress Passport, choose Multiple Languages from the Save as type drop-down menu in File menu > Save As. To save a document so it can be opened only in a single-language version of Passport or in QuarkXPress, choose Single Language from the same drop-down menu.
