Picture preview options

Every EPS picture has a TIFF preview built into it (unless it's specifically saved without one) so you can see it on screen or print it on a non-PostScript printer. The higher a picture preview's bit depth, the longer it may take to render on screen and the larger will be the file storage size of the document into which it's imported. Choose display options for imported TIFF pictures in Edit menu > Preferences > Application > Display folder tab (see page 277). In some applications (i.e. Illustrator) you can choose a bit depth for the preview. When you save an image for export to QuarkXPress, save it with a preview, if that option is available.
