To add PPDs to the PPD manager list:

1.
Install the PPDs in the C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM.

If QuarkXPress isn't open, launch the application now.

Choose Utilities menu > PPD Manager.

Make sure the Folder path for the PPD folder is the same as the location that was used for step 1. If it is, skip to step 5.

If it's not the same path, click Browse, and locate the folder that contains the System's PPD files (C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM, in our example). When the correct folder name is highlighted, click OK.

In the PPD Manager, click Update. Any PPDs that were just added to the System folder will also be added to the current PPD list.

Make sure a check mark appears in the Include column for any PPD that you want to appear on the Printer Description drop-down menu in the File menu > Print > Setup folder tab.

7.
Click OK.

Tip

QuarkXPress can only look to one PPD folder at a time. If you have different folders containing different PPD files, then only one of those folders will be accessable to the PPD Manager (and thus, the QuarkXPress Setup folder tab list) at a time.
