To apply a blend to a box:

1.
Choose the Item tool.

2.
Click on a text box, picture box, group, or multiple-item selection.

Choose View menu > Show Colors to open the Colors palette (F12).

Click the Background icon .

Choose Linear, Mid-Linear, Rectangular, Diamond, Circular, or Full Circular from the fill-type drop-down menu . (If Linear is the only available option, it means the Cool Blends XTension isn't enabled. Use the XTensions Manager to enable it, then re-launch XPress.)

Click the #1 button, then choose a color and a shade percentage .

7.
Click the #2 button, then choose a color and a shade percentage (, this page and - on the next page).

8.
Optional: Enter an angle between -360° and 360° in an increment as small as .001° in the angle field (remember to press Enter).

Tip

To render blends on an 8-bit monitor without banding, check the Accurate Blends box in Edit menu >Preferences >Document >General folder tab (Ctrl-Y). Screen redraw may be slower with this option checked.
