Béziers

The most dramatic addition to QuarkXPress are the tools for creating Bézier boxes, lines, and text paths. A Bézier item is composed of straight and/or curved line segments that are connected by points. A point for a curve segment has two rabbit-ear curve handles attached to it that control the shape and direction of the curve. A Bézier item can be closed or open.

The many tools you can use to create and reshape Bézier items in QuarkXPress are shown on the following page. While each tool creates an item with a distinctive function—i.e., a closed shape to contain text or a picture or an open line on which to place text—the way Bézier points and handles are manipulated to reshape an item are the same for all items .
