Anchored Boxes

When Samuel Clemens said, “Pictures are in picture boxes and text is in text boxes and never the twain shall meet,” he just didn't know about anchored boxes. (What? He didn't say that? Never mind.) In fact, many programs let you paste graphic images directly into text so that as you type, the images flow along with the text in the same position. These are usually called inline graphics.

QuarkXPress takes this concept one step further, however, by letting you anchor either a picture or a text box directly into the flow of text. You can even anchor a line or a text path into text. (For the sake of simplicity, I'm going to stick with the phrase “anchored box” instead of “anchored boxes and lines and text paths and….”)
