Text Runaround

Text can flow around any kind of object on a page: text boxes, picture boxes, tables, contentless boxes, and lines. Each object can have its own runaround specification, controlled on the Runaround tab of the Modify dialog box (select the text box or the picture box and choose Runaround from the Item menu, or press Command-T). For example, if you want to wrap text around a picture box, you should apply a runaround setting to the picture box. Note that the text box has to sit behind whatever it's running around.

If you jumped from XPress 3.x to version 5, the Runaround tab may appear quite daunting, as it has changed a lot since that version (see Figure 11-1). Fear not; it's quite painless if you tackle one section of the dialog box at a time. The primary settings you need to pay attention to are the Type popup menu and the Outset field.
