Setting Your Own H&J

Different paragraphs in your document may need different hyphenation and justification settings. For example, you may want the paragraphs in the main body of your text to hyphenate normally, and text in sidebars or headlines to remain unhyphenated. You can use XPress's H&J feature to set up multiple H&J settings to be applied later at a paragraph level.

Creating an H&J Setting

When you select H&Js from the Edit menu (or press Command-Option-H), the H&Js dialog box appears (see Figure 6-44). You can add, delete, edit, duplicate, or append H&J settings. The list on the left side of the dialog box shows the names of each H&J setting. A new document only has one setting: Standard, which is the default setting for all text paragraphs.
