Document and Application Preferences

The Preferences dialog box (press either Command-Y or Command-Option-Shift-Y; see Figure 2-21) contains preferences that affect the way your document and the program acts. The dialog box is broken down into 15 different panels (also called tabs), each of which contains a mess o' preferences you can set. The first eight panels are application preferences; the last seven panels are document preferences. The difference is important.
