Chapter 13. Printing > Print Styles

Print Styles

One of my favorite features in the old QuarkPrint XTension was the Print Styles feature, which let you save collections of Print and Page Setup dialog-box settings under one name. Fortunately, the folks at Quark built this feature right into QuarkXPress, so no additional XTension is necessary. There are two great benefits to print styles. First, you can easily change the default settings for XPress's Print dialog box. If you have one printer and you're tired of selecting the same PPD from the Printer Description popup menu or turning off the Include Blank Pages option every time you print, this is the feature for you.

Print Styles is also great for service bureaus or anyone else who prints to a number of different devices from one copy of XPress, because you can build dozens (hundreds? Sorry, I've never tried) of different print styles.
