Page as Picture

A few years ago, I worked on a book that required taking illustrations created in QuarkXPress and bringing them into PageMaker (horrors!). This is not an uncommon thing, of course; there are many times when you'd like to move text or graphics from XPress into other applications, or even bring a page of a QuarkXPress document into another XPress document as a picture. QuarkXPress allows you to take care of these situations with the Save Page as EPS feature.

Selecting Save Page as EPS from the File menu (or pressing Command-Option-Shift-S) brings up a dialog box in which you can select a page of your document and save it as a separate EPS file (see Figure 9-21). There are loads of ways to tweak this EPS image.
