Chapter 7. Typography > Special characters in other fonts

Special characters in other fonts

To insert special characters, first you need to know which keystroke to use. Appendix A is a chart of Zapf Dingbat, Symbol, and other special characters. To find other characters, in the Mac OS, you can use Apple > Key Caps. Choose from the Font menu, then study the keyboard map. Press Option, Shift, or Option-Shift to display other characters. Type the keystroke to confirm it, Copy it (Cmd-C), then choose Paste (Cmd-V) in your document.
