To save a new version of a file:

1.
Open the file to be duplicated.

2.
Choose File > Save As (Cmd-Option-S/Ctrl-Alt-S).

3.
Change the name in the Save current document as field (Mac OS) / File name field (Win) .

4.
Optional in the Mac OS: Check Include Preview to have a thumbnail of the first page of the document display in the Open dialog box.

5.
Optional: To downsave the document, choose Version: 4.0.

6.
Choose a location in which to save the duplicate file.

7.
Click Save. The new version of the document will remain open; the original version of the document will close.

TIP

If you don't change the file name in the Save as dialog box, a warning prompt will appear when you click Save. Click Replace to save over the original file or click Cancel.
