To resave a file:

Choose File > Save (Cmd-S/Ctrl-S). The Save command will be dimmed if no modifications were made to the file since it was last saved.

The Save As command creates a copy of a document under a different name. We usually use it when we want to create a variation of an existing document. And occasionally, if we have a file that seems corrupted (e.g., it won't let us save), we'll try a Save As on it—sometimes that does the trick. This command also can be used to downsave a document to QuarkXPress version 4.0 (for print documents only).
