Chapter 9. Pictures > To scale a picture:

To scale a picture:

1.
Choose the Item or Content tool.

2.
Click on a picture.

3.
Hold down Cmd-Option-Shift/Ctrl-Alt-Shift and press the “>” key to enlarge the picture 5% at a time or the “<” key to shrink the picture.

On the Measurements palette, enter new X% and/or Y% (picture size) values .

Figure 1. When the X and Y scale percentages differ from each other, it means the picture's proportions no longer match that of the original.


Figure 2. When the X and Y scale percentages match, it means the picture's proportions are the same as that of the original.


Figure 3. A picture with an X coordinate of 55% and a Y coordinate of 55%


Figure 4. A picture with an X coordinate of 40% and a Y coordinate of 60%

TIP

Press Tab to move from field to field on the Measurements palette (press Shift-Tab to reverse your steps).
