To step and repeat an item:

1.
Choose the Item or Content tool.

2.
Select an item or a group of items .

Choose Item > Step and Repeat (Cmd-Option-D/Ctrl-Alt-D).

Enter the number of duplicates to be made in the Repeat Count field (1–99) .

Enter a Horizontal Offset value. Enter a minus sign before the value to step and repeat items to the left of the original. Enter 0 in this field if you want the duplicates to align along their left edges, but not move horizontally.

Enter a Vertical Offset value. Enter a minus sign before the value to step and repeat items above the original. Enter 0 in this field if you want the duplicates to align along their top edges, but not move vertically.

Enter positive values (or negative values) in both Offset fields to produce a stair-step arrangement.

6.
Click OK .

TIP

If an alert prompt appears, reduce the Repeat Count and/or Offset values so the duplicate items will fit within the confines of the pasteboard.
