Color for the Web

When designing Web graphics, one important goal is to choose colors that will display consistently in a variety of settings, while avoiding colors that may not be available on most viewer's systems. Luckily, the various platforms and browsers have 216 colors in common that display consistently on most viewer's stations. As long as you keep to those Web-safe colors, you can depend on your colors looking pretty much as you intended. Non-Web-safe colors can look very different on another platform, in another browser, or on a monitor with a different (lower) color depth.
