Summary

This chapter presented the second part of a general Web design tutorial for those interested in taking their ARG-based ideas to the Web. While the topics presented here (frames and cascading style sheets) along with what you learned in Chapter 9 are certainly not everything there is to know about Web design, the material nevertheless gives you a solid background as you venture into Web design, especially if you utilize an HTML/Web editing tool like FrontPage or Dream Weaver (tools like these will automate or otherwise simplify much of the “hand-coding” you would have to perform without the use of these tools). So, as inspiration and interest strikes, take your great ARG ideas and Web-enable them! Or, if you aren’t a Web designer or prefer to stay on the players-only side of the ARG curtain, you can take general strategies and tips from these chapters to help you become a more savvy and content-aware player, as you will know some of the design secrets used by puppetmasters to secretly hide or disguise clues to the game.
