Enhancing Form Text

Most form builders seem not to think too much about the text that appears in a form's labels, text boxes, and other controls. They usually accept the Access defaults and move on to seemingly more important duties such as getting the fields placed just so. But the text should be an integral part of the overall form design. After all, nicely formatted characters make the form readable and easy on the eyes, whereas slapdash text formatting can ruin an otherwise successful form.

Text is important because its readability and visual appeal is centered around four characteristics that define what might be called the “architecture” of each character:
