Chapter 12. Creating and Publishing a Report > Creating a Report in Design View

Creating a Report in Design View

Although the Report Wizard is a step up from AutoReport in terms of control, the resulting reports still might not satisfy your needs. For example, you might want to build a custom report that mirrors as closely as possible an equivalent paper report. If the Access report resembles the paper report, the person using the report to analyze or review data might feel more comfortable with it and will be less likely to need help interpreting the data.

For maximum report flexibility, you need to use the report Design view, which gives you total control over the report, including the positioning of the controls, the formatting of the text, the colors, and much more.
