Chapter 5. Working with Tables > Moving to a Specific Record in a Table

Moving to a Specific Record in a Table

When you scroll through a table in Datasheet view, you are simply viewing different parts of the table; the insertion point (cursor) stays in its original location in the first record. If you type any text, it appears in the first record, regardless of which record is currently visible. To move the insertion point to a specific record, you must click the record (or a field in the record). If the record you want to select is not visible, you can use the navigation buttons to move to the next, previous, first, or last record. Or you can type the number of the record (if you know it) in the Specific Record box to display that record.
