Formatting Forms

Open the form you want to format in Design view, and make sure that none of the form elements are selected.

Select the entire form by clicking the blank box in the upper left corner at the top of the form.

Open the Format menu and choose AutoFormat.

The AutoFormat dialog box appears, displaying a list of available formats. Click a format to preview it. When you find a format that you want to use, click OK.

INTRODUCTION

In addition to formatting the individual elements in a form, you can change the overall appearance of the form itself. For example, you can apply any one of the predesigned AutoFormats, as demonstrated in this task.

TIP

Selecting the Form

Make sure that you have the form selected, not a control. If you select just a control, only that element is formatted.

Access applies the selected AutoFormat to the form.

Click the Save button on the Standard toolbar in the main Access window to save the change to the form.

To see how the new form will look when you enter data, close the form and then reopen it.
