Determining How Users Will Get Their Information

One of the most challenging stages when deploying Crystal Enterprise is determining how your user will interact with the system and what features to deliver. This shouldn’t sound intimidating; in fact, it should be empowering. Many organizations find that they prefer one of the sample Web applications provided with Crystal Enterprise (that’s why they’re there), apply their own corporate logo, and roll it out as an instant intranet reporting application. The samples were written for Crystal Enterprise based on the most common applications and interfaces that customers of Crystal Decisions have deployed over the years.

This doesn’t imply that there are just a bunch of sample client applications provided with Crystal Enterprise. There is a very robust default client tool for end users called ePortfolio. Several chapters of this book are dedicated to ePortfolio.
