Chapter 4. Installing Crystal Enterprise... > Using the Crystal Configuration Mana...

Using the Crystal Configuration Manager

The Crystal Configuration Manager is reviewed at several points in this book. This is a brief preview of the functionality of the Crystal Configuration Manager to provide a minimal understanding of how its functions are necessary for some server installation tasks. The Crystal Configuration Manager is a Win32 application that allows viewing and modification of server settings in Crystal Enterprise. It’s installed by default on any server where any Crystal Enterprise server is installed.

Windows Services can be used to manage some of the configuration options for each Crystal Enterprise server; however, more detailed options are available only within the Configuration Manager, such as migrating the APS system database to a new RDBMS. Additionally, the Web Connector is configurable only through the Crystal Configuration Manager.
