Chapter 4. Installing Crystal Enterprise 8.5 > Configuring the Web Connector

Configuring the Web Connector

The following procedure explains how to configure the Web connector to send and receive on specific ports:

1.
Start the Crystal Configuration Manager.

2.
Stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service.

3.
On the toolbar, click the Configure Web Connector button; the Web Connector Configuration screen appears similar to Figure 4.9.

Figure 4.9. Set configuration for the Web Connector.

4.
In the WCS Host Name field, type one of the following:

  • The name of the server that’s running the WCS. This server must be routable from the Web server that’s running the Web connector.

  • The external translated IP address of the server that’s running the WCS. This IP address must be fixed; that is, the firewall must use static IP translation to grant the WCS server a fixed IP address.

  • If the WCS has been customized so that it listens on a port other than the default, type the new port number in the Port field. Otherwise, ensure that the default port number (6401) appears.

5.
Click OK twice to return to the CCM.

6.
Start the World Wide Web Publishing Service.
