Publisher Replication Problems

Q1: When I click Finish in the Pull Subscription Wizard, I get an error message that the publication I selected for the subscriber isn't in the Publications collection.
A1: Selecting the publishing server and pressing F5 to refresh its data usually solves this problem. If not, close and reopen Enterprise Manager. In either case, you must re-create the subscription from scratch.

Subscriber Replication Problems

Q1: When I check the subscription item in Enterprise Manager, the subscription has an icon with a red dot and a status of Never Started.
A1: The most common cause of this problem is failure of the client's SQL Server Agent service to start. On the subscribing PC, open SQL Service Manager, select SQL Server Agent, and click Start to start the service. In Enterprise Manager, right-click the subscription that has a status of Never Started, and choose Start Synchronizing. Wait for the disk activity associated with synchronization, which includes transferring the snapshot, to subside. Then select the Pull Subscriptions node and press F5 to refresh the status. Depending on network speed and traffic, initial synchronization might take several minutes.
