Using XML Static Data Import and Export

One of the traditional strengths of Access has been the capability to import and export static data in many different formats. Access 2002 adds XML Documents (.xml) to the Files of Type list of the Import dialog and the Save As Type list of the Export ObjectType dialog. You can save an Access table, query, form, or report as an .htm file, which displays Web pages created by a pair of .xml data and .xsl style sheet files.

Figure 1.10 shows the Data page of the Advanced version of the Export XML dialog in which you specify the folder to store the .xml and .xsl files. You also can export schemas of tables and queries in the W3C XSD standard. Access doesn't support the Microsoft XML Data Reduced (XDR) format.
