Chapter 28. Responding to Events with VB... > Customizing Applications with Comman...

Customizing Applications with CommandBar Objects

Office 2000 applications use CommandBar objects to create menubars, popup menus, toolbar buttons, and toolbar combo boxes. To gain VBA programming access to CommandBar objects, your database must include a reference to the Microsoft Office 9.0 Object Library, Mso9.dll (see Figure 28.19). Mso9.dll includes other objects that are common to Office 2000, such as the Balloon object of the Office Assistant object and the DocumentProperty object for files. Figure 28.20 shows the Microsoft Office Objects help topic that displays the collections and objects exposed by Mso9.dll. The top-level collections and objects—CommandBars, Assistant, FileSearch, and DocumentProperties—are members of Access 2000's Application object.
