Establishing MSDE Security

Integrated security is the best option for most Windows NT SQL Server installations. Integrated security lets you assign specific SQL Server privileges to Windows NT groups and users. When you run MSDE under Windows 9x, of course, the Integrated Security option isn't available.

By default, Access ADP log on to MSDE with the sa username and an empty password, the hallmarks of a totally unsecure server installation. Fortunately, ADP offer a simplified version of the security management features of SQL Server Enterprise manager. To establish database security for ordinary users of MSDE databases, do the following:
