Chapter 19. Adding Charts and Graphics t... > Adding a Bound Object Control to a F...

Adding a Bound Object Control to a Form or Report

Like Graph9 graphs and charts, graphic images and other OLE objects stored in OLE Object fields of Access tables use a bound object frame control to display their presentation. The bound object frame control is an OLE container within which a bitmapped or vector-based image can be displayed. Other OLE objects that rely on data stored in OLE Object fields, such as Sound Recorder and Media Player objects, plus data-bound ActiveX controls appear in the bound object frame.

In the case of still graphic images, the presentation within the bound object frame is a copy of the object's data property. Animated images and video objects usually display the first image in the animation sequence or video clip. Sound objects substitute the icon of the OLE server with which their file type is associated in the Registry. Double-clicking the bound object frame launches the OLE server that you used to add the object to a data cell in an OLE Object field of your table.
