Chapter 1. Access 97 for Access 95 and 2... > Installing the Office Developer Edit...

Installing the Office Developer Edition Components

The Office 97 Developer Edition CD-ROM consists of two components: the Office 97 Resource Kit (ORK) and Office 97 Developer Edition (ODE) Tools. These files consume about 20M of disk space. Following are the steps you take to install the Access 97 Setup Wizard and other tools included with the Developer edition:

1.
With the ODE CD-ROM in an accessible CD-ROM drive, from the Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 Start menu choose Run to open the Run dialog. Click the Browse button, select your CD-ROM drive, and navigate to the \ODE folder. Double-click the Setup.exe item to close the Browse dialog and open the first Setup dialog (see Figure 1.32).

2.
Click Continue to enter and confirm your name and organization. When you click OK in the Product ID dialog, the dialog to select the installation folder appears (see Figure 1.33). Unless you have a good reason to do otherwise, select the default location for the ODETools folder.

3.
Click OK to open the Installation Options dialog (see Figure 1.34). Most Access developers are likely to install all the ODE tools, so click the Complete button to install the Setup Wizard, Replication Manager, and other ODE tools. The Setup application installs the files in the folder specified in the preceding step.
