Sorting, Filtering, and Retrieving Data 197 When you sort by more than one field, Microsoft Access sorts by the column on the left first and then by the other fields. You can now see the records for each campaign together and, within each campaign, sorted by the type of expense. In a simple sort such as this one, you can't sort one field in ascending order and another field in descending order. To sort records by more than one field with a different sort order in the fields, you need to use an advanced filter or a query, which you'll learn about later in this chapter.
