615 Chapter 18. Maintaining an Access Database In this chapter, you will learn how to: · Perform maintenance tasks such as backing up an Access database and using the Compact And Repair Database command · View database object dependencies · Manage a multiuser database, including options for controlling record locking and considerations for converting an Access database · Replicate an Access database After a database is in production--as you or other users enter and update data each day or on some other schedule--you should follow a set of routine tasks to ensure that the database and the data it stores remain in good working order. In this chapter, we'll describe some of the tasks you perform to administer and maintain an Access database (and an Access project)--tasks that help keep the database running efficiently and help avoid the loss of critical data.
