Chapter 27. Building Data Access Pages > Uploading Your Pages to a Web Server

Uploading Your Pages to a Web Server

After you have finished developing your data access pages and have corrected the connection properties so that all clients can access your database, you need to upload or “publish” your files to your Web server. If your Web server is available via a network share, you can simply copy the files using Windows Explorer. Be sure to also copy any supporting folders and files. For example, if you have applied a theme to any of your pages, you’ll find the files needed to apply the theme in a subfolder that has the same name as the data access page with _Files appended to the name.

Note

If you used FrontPage to incorporate your pages into a FrontPage Web, you should use FrontPage to publish your pages. This ensures that all supporting files needed by FrontPage are copied to the server. See Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003 Inside Out for details.
