Chapter 7. Views > Union Queries

Union Queries

You can use the UNION command to unite multiple SELECT resultsets into a single resultset. Chapter 9, “Transact-SQL,” contains a detailed description of the UNION command.

If you use UNION in a view’s SQL area, Access cannot display it in the grid and diagram areas. The same is true for Access mdb queries. When you save a view, Access displays an error message indicating that UNION is not supported. However, you can still save the view and execute it without problems. The error message indicates only that Access does not support displaying UNION in the query designer.
