Part IV: Upsizing > Upsizing Wizard

Chapter 16. Upsizing Wizard

Microsoft Access supports conversion of .mdb files into Access projects using the Upsizing Wizard. The wizard attempts to convert as many objects in an .mdb file as possible, although some structures cannot be transferred. It divides the .mdb file into an .adp file for access project and a database in Microsoft SQL Server/MSDE. You have an option of creating a new adp project, keeping an existing mdb project with linked tables, or keeping your project intact. In the next step, you must then enhance the unconverted queries, where required, and check forms, reports, and modules. This chapter describes common problems that you might encounter during upsizing. It also details the Access commands and program constructions that cannot be converted by the Upsizing Wizard.
