Transactions

Microsoft Access allows you to combine several database operations in a single transaction. The changes to the database are only valid when all suboperations for a transaction have been processed successfully. If this is not the case, then the database is returned to its original status before the transaction was commenced.

The basic rules for processing of transactions can be described with the acronym ACID:
