Aggregate Functions

You can use aggregate functions to perform calculations that refer to a result column (for example, determining the total of all values in a column, or finding the smallest value in a column). You can also use the GROUP BY command described in the next section, which causes the aggregate functions to be executed in the groups created by the command.

Table 9-16 provides an overview of the aggregate functions that you can use.
