Working with Tables

As in Access mdb database files, you can branch from the table design into the Datasheet view. This section describes some of the special features of the Datasheet view in Access projects.

If you call the Datasheet view for a table in an Access project, all lines in the table are transferred from SQL Server/MSDE to Access at the client. An Access project has a predefined restriction of 10,000 data lines (that is, only the first 10,000 lines of the table are transferred). This restriction was introduced to prevent extremely large tables with millions of records from overloading the server, client, and network when they are accessed.
