Triggers

Triggers are a special variant of stored procedures that are linked to tables and executed when the event for which they are programmed occurs. There are three variants of triggers in SQL Server 7/MSDE: INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE. SQL Server 2000/MSDE 2000 also introduces INSTEAD OF and AFTER triggers.

To create, change, or delete a trigger for a table, first select the corresponding table in the Database window. Right-click the table name and select Triggers from the shortcut menu.
