Tags

The tag describes the data type for an object, and it is the only part of an object name that is actually needed. At first glance, it seems strange that the base name is not the most important part of an object name. However, consider an integrated procedure that works within a form, for example. In this case, the fact that the routine works within the form is important, rather than what the form represents. Because the routine could work within many different types of forms, you do not necessarily need the base name. If, however, you use more than one object of a certain type in a routine, you must use a base name for all but one of the objects to differentiate between them. The base name also contains information on the variable, which should always contain a base name.
