Chapter 17. From DAO to ADO > Executing Queries

Executing Queries

DAO and ADO differ significantly in how they handle queries. You can create and execute queries with DAO QueryDef objects, but the ADO Command objects can be used only to execute queries. In most cases, QueryDef or Command objects are used to execute action queries or queries with parameters.

Administering Queries

A DAO QueryDef object describes a query in an mdb database. The QueryDefs collection displays the QueryDef objects for all queries. DAO lets you add new objects to the QueryDefs list; that is, it lets you create new queries in the mdb database.
