Chapter 10. Forms > Referencing Forms and Reports

Referencing Forms and Reports

For form and report record sources, many Access mdb applications use queries that use Forms!FormName!Control to reference control elements in other forms. With Access project forms, you can no longer use these kinds of references in queries. Access projects do not execute queries locally on the client, but on the database server instead. The database server, however, cannot access the local client to determine a value in a form.

References Between Forms

If the query for a form’s record source contains a reference to another form, you cannot simply use the solution for mdb forms with adp forms as well. Refer to the following example for an illustration.
