Creating Databases

To create a new database, you must choose the method that involves creating a new Access project, as described in Chapter 4, “Databases.” Select File, then New to open the corresponding dialog box and select Project (New Database). Once you have named the new project, the Microsoft SQL Server Database Wizard guides you through the steps to create a new database.

At the beginning of Chapter 16, “Upsizing Wizard” we briefly explained how to use wizards to create databases. The wizard provides almost no setting and configuration options for the new database. If you create a new database with the SQL Server Enterprise Manager, you can use numerous configuration options, as described in Chapter 19, “SQL Server Tools.”
