Chapter 13.  Recordset Objects > The Requery and Resync Methods

The Requery and Resync Methods

The Requery method executes the query on which the recordset is based to update the recordset data. For example, if other database users in the network have deleted or added records, the changes are copied to your recordset.

You can use the Resync method for client-based recordsets, but only for those for which Supports(adUpdate) is True. In the process, the existing records in the recordset are leveled, but the system does not re-execute the query. Thus, new records added by other users are not added to the recordset. The system only adds the changes made by other users to the recordset. If records are deleted from the database in the meantime, corresponding errors are noted in the recordset object’s Errors list and a run-time error is triggered.
